Our Achievements.png

South Central Community Family Service Centre (SCC) is committed to transforming poverty through empowered families and communities. Taking an inclusive, Assets Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, we strengthen social connections and activate mutual support to uplift low‑income and vulnerable families. Moving beyond the traditional Family Service Centre model, SCC adopts an integrated, multi‑pronged strategy to support approximately 800 families with young children living in rental flats, enabling them to move towards stability and long‑term progress.

Moving beyond the traditional Family Service Centre model, SCC adopts an integrated, multi‑pronged strategy to support approximately 800 families with young children living in rental flats, enabling them to move towards stability and long‑term progress.

Our transformational strategy is anchored in four interconnected verticals: Social Work, Home Ownership, Livelihood, and Child & Learning Development. Through intensive, family‑centered social work interventions, we stabilise families in crisis while working towards sustained outcomes such as secure housing, stable employment, and positive developmental pathways for children. These verticals function collectively to address both immediate challenges and future aspirations across the family life course.

By building families' financial resilience, educational foundations, and social support systems, SCC acts as a springboard for social mobility and inter‑generational change. Whether supporting parents in securing meaningful employment or ensuring children receive the academic and developmental support they need to thrive, our work is strengthened by close partnerships with volunteers and community stakeholders. Together, we strive to ensure every family has the opportunity to flourish within a supportive and empowered community.

"When we invest in families, we cultivate hope, healing and build a sustainable future rooted in connection and collective strength"

SCC's Transformational Strategy

tor of comm 3.png

The SCC Holistic Transformation Journey includes empowering members through a multi-pathway approach, supported by our backbone of shared and support services. Poverty transformation is our key impact, where four verticals work in tandem to support families towards greater social mobility, leveraging one another along the pathway, while also empowering families and their communities in the process. All this is nested upon building Empowered Communities to sustain and support real change.

Our Footprints (impact)

Of the ~1400 families, we have cumulatively supported or are currently supporting 311* families through social work AND through at least one of our transformation pathways (i.e., Home Ownership (KeyStart), Livelihood, or Education)

*correct as of FY24/25

SCC has held itself to the mandate of poverty transformation, which we believe to be an inter-generational effort. Our focus thus lies in engaging and supporting families with young children living in rental flats within our service boundary. We estimate that this group comprises ~1,400 families, whom we collectively refer to as the SCC Universe.
